Boost Your Campaign with the Sandels Typeface

I was deep into prepping a product launch for a new line of artisanal candles when I hit a wall. The visuals felt flat, the message wasn’t landing, and the thumbnails weren’t standing out in the feed. That’s when I decided to switch up the typography. I landed on Sandels, a brushed calligraphy font from Script Amp, and it transformed the whole campaign.

Sandels has this strong, confident vibe that immediately adds character to any design. It reads dynamic yet nostalgic, which perfectly matched the brand’s story of blending modern convenience with old-world craftsmanship. The soft, handwritten feel of the brush strokes gave the campaign a personal touch without sacrificing professionalism.

Why Sandels Works for Campaign Design

The first thing I noticed about Sandels is how it commands attention. It’s not too ornate like some script fonts, nor is it too casual like a basic handwritten style. It sits right in the sweet spot between elegance and approachability. This made it ideal for headlines, taglines, and callouts across different platforms.

I used it in Instagram posts, YouTube thumbnail titles, and even in the email subject lines. The clean, flowing curves of the letters helped the text stand out against both light and dark backgrounds. On mobile screens, where readability can be tricky, Sandels still held its form—clear enough to read at a glance but stylish enough to catch the eye.

Real Campaign Applications

For the candle launch, I created a series of social media posts. One featured a bold headline: “Light Up Your Space.” Using Sandels, the text had just the right amount of flair without overwhelming the image of the candle. It worked well as a decorative title over a photo, and it also looked great in a smaller size as a caption.

In another instance, I needed a webinar banner that would pop on LinkedIn. I paired Sandels with a clean sans serif font for the supporting text. The contrast between the two styles created visual hierarchy, making the main message clear while keeping the overall look professional.

I also tested it in Pinterest pins. Since Pinterest users often scroll quickly, I made sure the text was large enough to be readable in small previews. Sandels performed exceptionally well here—its legibility and personality helped the pins stand out in a sea of content.

Font Pairing and Practical Tips

Sandels pairs beautifully with minimalist typefaces. I found that using it alongside a modern sans serif like Montserrat or Helvetica gave the designs balance. For more editorial or branded content, a classic serif like Playfair Display complemented Sandels’ brushed aesthetic nicely.

When designing for digital ads, I always check the font’s included styles and alternates. Sandels comes with several weights and ligatures that allow for subtle variations in tone. This flexibility helped me adjust the look depending on whether I wanted something bold for a sale announcement or softer for a quote graphic.

Another key point is ensuring the font license covers commercial use. Since I was using it in client campaigns and digital ads, I made sure the font was properly licensed for those purposes. This is especially important when working with templates, merchandise, or any paid promotional materials.

Readability Across Platforms

One challenge I faced early on was ensuring Sandels remained readable in small formats. I tested it in thumbnails, image overlays, and fast-scrolling feeds. By adjusting the letter spacing and choosing lighter weights for smaller sizes, I managed to keep the text legible without losing its charm.

For dark backgrounds, I used a slightly bolder weight and added a subtle white stroke to the letters. This helped them pop without being too harsh. On light backgrounds, the default weight worked fine, and the natural texture of the brush strokes added depth without extra effort.

It’s also worth noting that Sandels supports multiple languages, which came in handy when preparing multilingual social posts for international audiences. This versatility made it a go-to choice for a variety of campaigns beyond just English-speaking markets.

Whether you're launching a product, promoting a course, or running a seasonal sale, Sandels offers a unique way to elevate your message. Its blend of nostalgia and strength makes it perfect for brands looking to stand out in a crowded digital space. And best of all, it feels authentic—like a real human hand wrote the words, not a machine.
